Our Story

Independence Bank was founded in 1979 by Harry Mack, beginning with modest operations in a trailer on Rockside Road before relocating to its current location in 1980.

Harry Mack, a devoted family man and experienced banker with seven children, established the Bank with a clear vision: to create a community-focused institution dedicated to supporting the needs of small businesses. Following his passing in 1988, his wife, Rosemary Mack, assumed the roles of Chairman of the board and CEO, carrying forward his commitment to superior customer service and small business support. In 1996, Chris Mack was appointed Chairman of the Board and CEO, a position he continues to hold today, ensuring that the Bank’s founding principles remain at the core of its operations.

While much has changed over the years, one thing remains constant at Independence Bank — our unwavering dedication to exemplary service and to meeting the financial needs of small businesses, honoring the legacy of Harry and Rosemary Mack.
